Czech high-end accessories brand Är has launched a reusable FFP2 certified mask, which is treated with Polygiene ViralOffTM technology to protect and self-clean the microorganisms on textiles. The mask also has an anti-fog system.

Compared with surgical masks, FFP2 level respirators provide a higher level of two-way protection because they can filter in and out of air. They are designed to protect the wearer and those around them. As many countries/regions have strict regulations on the types of masks that can be worn in public places, Är's new respirator is expected to be in high demand due to its FFP2 certification. Most medical respirators, such as those certified FFP2, are disposable, and many are thrown away after only one use. People are increasingly worried about the environmental impact of using this type of mask. However, wearers of Är's new FFP2 certified respirator can rest easy because the product is reusable thanks to the addition of Polygiene ViralOff technology. Polygiene ViralOff is a treatment method for textiles and other products that reduces microorganisms on materials by more than 99%*. The technology was launched last year in response to the growing demand for antimicrobial solutions triggered by Covid-19. In order to develop this treatment, Polygiene returned to its roots-the company began to get involved in the healthcare field in 2006 during the fight against SARS. The addition of Polygiene ViralOff technology brings additional protection to the Är FFP2 level respirator, which means it can be worn again and again without discarding it. Är has successfully launched a series of masks and gloves containing Polygiene ViralOff. Its designer FFP2 respirator is the latest member of the product series that adopts this technology. The company stated that it chose to use Polygiene technology because it helps the brand stand out from other manufacturers of respirators and masks. “We chose Polygiene because we want to cooperate with the best partners and technologies from the European Union,” said Är founder Petr Liesner. "Polygiene ViralOff provides our products with a final blow that is different from the competition."

The Är FFP2 certified respirator is made of lightweight and comfortable textiles and nano-membrane, with an anatomical shape and nose clip to ensure a perfect fit on the face, and is equipped with an anti-fog system. It also has adjustable straps on both earrings, which can easily adapt to the wearer's unique body shape.

Haymo Strubel, Vice President of Commercial Operations for Polygiene Europe, Middle East and Africa, commented: “We are very pleased to continue to develop with our partner Är, launching their new and very unique FFP2 class respirator, and provide more hygiene and more wear Products. By keeping products in use longer, we will continue our mission to minimize disposable items, prevent items from being discarded prematurely, and provide more sustainable options in product design."
